FEDERAL COURT RULES MAIL-IN BALLOTS WITHOUT DATES ARE OK
A federal appeals court ruled that Pennsylvania can’t toss mail-in ballots over missing or incorrect dates on return envelopes. According to the Center Square, the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled the requirement violates the First and Fourteenth Amendments, noting the date plays no role in election security or administration. The case stemmed from a challenge after thousands of ballots were rejected in 2022 and 2024. Democratic leaders say the decision protects voters’ rights, while Republicans are reviewing possible appeals. The ruling could affect future close races in the battleground state.
