WATER MAIN BREAK SHUTS DOWN SCHOOL IN MONTGOMERY
More than 800 Montgomery Borough Water Authority customers lost service after a 10-inch water main burst around 4 a.m. Wednesday near Montgomery and Second streets. According to the Sun Gazette, officials say the break likely resulted from ground movement and frequent heavy truck traffic in the area. A boil advisory has since been issued, warning residents to use bottled or boiled water for drinking, cooking, and brushing teeth until further notice. Water tankers are stationed on Henry Hand Drive for anyone in need. The Montgomery Area School District canceled classes Wednesday as crews worked to repair the line and restore service. Officials say updates will be announced once it’s safe to resume normal water use.
