CO-CONSPIRATOR IN HOMICIDE CASE SENTENCED FOR DRUG CHARGES
A Williamsport man accused of helping Troy Bailey in a 2024 double homicide has been sentenced on separate drug charges as the homicide case continues to move through court. Forty-year-old Muhammad Davis received up to seven years in state prison after being convicted of selling hydrocodone pills, with a homicide trial scheduled for February seventeenth through twentieth. Meanwhile, defense attorneys for Bailey successfully requested that President Judge Nancy Butts step aside from the case, citing her impending retirement. Bailey and Davis are both charged in the killings of 37-year-old Alisha Seese and Seese’s co-worker, Ronald Dailey.
DEVASTATING FIRE IN KULPMONT DESTROYS THREE HOMES
A four-alarm fire in Kulpmont displaced about a dozen people and destroyed three homes on the 1300 block of Scott Street Saturday morning. Fire officials say heavy fire was found in all three homes when crews arrived shortly after nine, forcing firefighters to switch to an exterior attack. Homes at 1322 through 1328 Scott Street were a total loss and later razed for safety reasons. The state fire marshal is investigating the cause, and no injuries were reported.
FUNDING ANNOUNCED TO PRESERVE FARMLAND IN PA
The Shapiro Administration has announced more than six-point-nine million dollars in new funding to preserve Pennsylvania farmland. The investment protects more than 2,300 acres on 27 farms statewide from future development, including farms in Columbia and Union counties. WASD HOSTING CHARITY CONCERT TO BENEFIT MAKE-A-WISH
Williamsport Area High School students are spreading holiday cheer while supporting local children with critical illnesses through a benefit concert for Make-A-Wish. The free, family-friendly performance is set for tomorrow at six-thirty at the high school, with donations encouraged. Students have raised thousands for wishes since 2012, and proceeds this year will help grant wishes for local children, including a five-year-old Milo from Montoursville who is in need of a bone marrow transplant and wishes to visit Florida theme parks.
WOMAN ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT ON FEDERAL OFFICERS
A Williamsport woman is facing federal charges after allegedly assaulting two Department of Homeland Security officers. Federal prosecutors say 24-year-old Dominique Harris spit on two deportation officers while they were conducting a routine immigration arrest in Williamsport late last month. Authorities say Harris interfered at the scene, followed officers to an ICE facility, and became belligerent. She has been indicted on two counts of assaulting a federal officer and could face up to eight years in prison if convicted.
WATER MAIN BREAK AT MIFFLINBURG MIDLE SCHOOL
Students were sent home yesterday after a water main break at Mifflinburg Area Middle School prompted a precautionary closure. District officials say the break involved a line connected to a fire hydrant and was isolated later in the morning, allowing repairs to begin. There are no contamination concerns, but the system will be flushed as a precaution, and no other school buildings were affected. Classes are in session today at Mifflinburg Middle.
MERIT BADGE EVENT AT PENN COLLEGE

NORTHSHORE ANNOUNCES SUCCESSFUL FUNDRAISER TOTAL
The North Shore Railroad Company and its affiliates have raised twelve-thousand dollars for veteran support efforts through their second annual Veterans Benefit Voyage. The fundraising event was held in Lewisburg in November and supports nonprofit organizations that serve military veterans. This year, the railroad dedicated two locomotives to honor service members, including a Veterans Unit and a Memorial Unit that operate in regular freight service.
